Accessibility

Accessibility at Vantage West

Vantage West Credit Union strives to treat our Members with the highest level of service and respect.  To this end, we comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and will make reasonable modifications in policies, practices, and procedures in order to provide equal access to individuals with disabilities, to the extent required by the ADA and other applicable law.  Individuals with a disability who require modifications to access or to procure services from Vantage West or have concerns about access to Vantage West premises or services should contact a Branch Manager as soon as possible.  We will then work with that individual to identify reasonable modification(s) that are appropriate and consistent with our legal obligations.

Use of Service Animals

Individuals who rely on the assistance of service animals (as defined by the current ADA) are permitted to be accompanied by service animals on Vantage West premises.  Service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered at all times, unless those devices interfere with the service animal’s work or the individual’s disability prevents him or her from using these devices.  Individuals who cannot use such devices must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.  Notwithstanding these requirements, a service animal may be excluded from Vantage West Credit Union premises if: (1) the animal is out of control and the handler cannot or does not regain control; or (2) the animal is not housebroken.

Use of Mobility Devices

Individuals with disabilities may make use of mobility devices, including walkers, canes, crutches, braces, manually operated wheelchairs and power wheelchairs in all areas where customers are permitted access.  Individuals who wish to use other power-driven mobility devices powered by batteries, fuel, or other engines (as defined in the current ADA regulations), such as Segways, golf cars, and other devices designed to operate in non-pedestrian areas should contact a Branch Manager to request the opportunity to discuss whether use of such devices is reasonable under the circumstances and whether such use would present legitimate safety concerns.

Accessibility for Individuals with Vision, Hearing, & Speech Disabilities

Vantage West Credit Union is committed to taking steps necessary to communicate effectively with individuals with vision, hearing, and speech disabilities.  The type of modification necessary for a particular transaction or service will vary based on the individual circumstances.  Individuals with hearing and speech disabilities who anticipate requiring a sign language interpreter or other type of modification should contact a Branch Manager to request the opportunity to discuss their need.  In lieu of a standard telephone, individuals with hearing or speech disabilities may choose to communicate using either live chat, text telephone (TTY) or text messaging, by dialing 7-1-1 to access the free telephone relay network established by the ADA.
