When they arrived in Tucson from Los Angeles, artist Mel “Melo” Dominguez found that they needed to find a sense of community.
That’s when they met Melissa Brown-Dominguez. They found voices like those of their community missing from the local arts scene.
To provide representation to those they felt were underrepresented, they opened Galeria Mitotera, an arts marketplace highlighting unique, local art from South Tucson.
