Vantage West Feeds the Community

TUCSON, AZ (November 22, 2024) – Vantage West Credit Union is taking bold steps to combat hunger in Southern Arizona by hosting food drives at its branches and providing financial and volunteer support to local organizations and initiatives.
This past summer, Vantage West joined the United Food Bank’s Summer of a Million Meals campaign, contributing both financial resources and volunteer hours toward funding one million meals for families in need.
In addition, Vantage West sponsored a meal delivery route with Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona, supporting its mission to provide nutritious meals to individuals unable to shop or cook for themselves. Over a 12-week period, Vantage West employees volunteered to ensure consistent deliveries, positively impacting dozens of households.
This Thanksgiving season, Vantage West is hosting its third annual food drive to support The Salvation Army. Throughout November, donation boxes will be available at their branches for non-perishable food contributions. Vantage West aims to collect 1,250 pounds of food and $3,750 this season, in an effort to beat last year’s results of 1,000 pounds of food and $3,000 in donations.
“As a community-focused organization, we want to make a real impact through hands-on involvement and dedicated support,” said Jimena Valdes-Walls, SVP of Member Experience at Vantage West. “We invite our members and the community to join us in making a difference.”
“The Salvation Army is incredibly thankful for community partners like Vantage West Credit Union,” said Major Andres Espinoza, Tucson City Coordinator of The Salvation Army Southwest Division. “This food drive and our partnership with Vantage West allow us to provide assistance where it’s needed most.”
Spread warmth and kindness this November! Drop off food donations at any Tucson Vantage West location or contribute online at salarmy.us/VantageWestFOODDRIVE to make a difference.
